Where is HUBBS located?
We are in Fenton, MO U.S.A.
Does Hubbs Machine manufacture all their products in-house?
We manufacture over 99% of our products in-house.
Are 3D Models available for HUBBS products?
Yes. Please either use the request form found here on our website or email Charlie Graham at charlie@hubbsmetrology.com.
Is HUBBS ISO-9001:2015 certified?
Yes. HUBBS is ISO-9001:2015 certified and ANSI-Z540.3 compliant. Download our certificate here.
What systems does Hubbs Machine support?
We support Laser Tracker, Photogrammetry, Theodolite, Total Station, Laser Scanners, Laser Tracers, and other evolving technologies.
Will Hubbs Machine work from customer drawings or designs?
Yes. We will even work with you to finalize design or offer suggestions to improve a design if we see an opportunity.
Are Theodolite targets still available?
Yes. We currently only offer the button, straight-on and spheres.
How long has HUBBS been manufacturing Laser Tracker support items such as SM (Sphere Mount) series?
We have been supplying SM series support targets for the Laser Tracker since early 1990’s.
What type of stainless steel are HUBBS Sphere Mounts made from?
17-4 Stainless Steel
What is a standard lead-time for HUBBS products?
If the items are in stock, they will ship upon receipt of order. If the order is of a larger quantity or has been ordered while we are currently out of stock, please allow a lead-time of 1-2 weeks. If seeking quantities of 100s or 1000s please call for the most accurate lead times.
Why does HUBBS offer so many spherical items?
HUBBS offers a spherical item for every system that then fits inside a 1.5 Sphere Mount. If you have a control setup using 1.5 SM, you can tie in any type of metrology equipment into that control and gain transparency between the systems.
Is HUBBS willing and capable of supporting customer’s special designs?
Yes! HUBBS is a fully functional, high end machine shop specializing in tight tolerance manufacturing for the Metrology industry. We have a very large selection of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) items, but if you need our help to improve a design to meet your unique project, please email Charlie@hubbsmetrology.com
What is the advantage of the SM polar design (1.5 SMP)?
SMP allows for the SMR to point below center 360˚. This is especially important for threaded mounts (1.5 SMPT) or drift nest that are permanently or semi-permanently mounted in place.
Does HUBBS offer a Retro-Reflective tape that has a less aggressive adhesive?
Yes. HUBBS offers RTR EZ that was developed for easier removal and leaves no residue.
Can one order direct from HUBBS?

Is there a minimum order?
No! There is no minimum order.
Does HUBBS accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept American Express, Mastercard and Visa.
Does HUBBS pay shipping charges?
The short answer is, No. However, we are willing to prepay and add the cost of shipping to your invoice or ship by using your organization’s shipping account number with DHL, FedEx, or UPS.
Does HUBBS ship outside the United States?
Yes. When shipping outside of the United States HUBBS will follow all US Export Compliance laws and will require all customers to complete an end-user statement prior to any shipment taking place. It is also highly recommended that the customers include their courier of choice and the account number to be billed.
Does HUBBS pay duties, taxes, or import fees?
No. These charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Should I be concerned about inaccuracies because of worn surface treatments or coatings?
If you’re asking about HUBBS products, the simple answer is no. HUBBS employs three surface processes presently.
- Black Oxide for some of the ferrous close-tolerance steel products.
- Hard Coat Anodize for aluminum products such as various non-critical aluminum Sphere Mounts.
- Simple Anodize for some aluminum products.
HUBBS also offers many of its products in stainless steel for more corrosive environments.
